23 May 2024 – The Philippine Healthcare and Mercury Wastes Management Project kicked off its series of Regional Inception Meetings and Validations Workshops in Cagayan Valley Medical Center.
Healthcare workers, who bravely put themselves at risk to protect our communities, deserve to be safeguarded. This was BAN Toxics’ message as the country celebrates the Day of Valor.
On December 6, 2023, the Global Environment Facility – United Nations Industrial Development Organization (GEF-UNIDO) officially launched the “Philippine Healthcare Waste Management Project,” attended by over 100 members of civil society, academia, the hospital and healthcare industry, healthcare waste experts, and representatives from DENR EMB and the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Offices.
6 December 2023 – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), Department of Health (DOH), and BAN Toxics, together with different stakeholders have joined together to lead the launching of the five-year project funded by Global Environment Facility (GEF) focused on the reduction of unintended organic pollutants and mercury from healthcare wastes.
